Psychotherapy for individuals and couples in Ontario

Reduce anxiety.
Feel grounded.
Be your best self.

Welcome. I’m Wendy.

I work with individuals and couples to reduce anxiety and manage overwhelming emotions so that they feel more grounded in themselves, stronger and more connected inside of their relationships, and ultimately able to make positive change in their lives.

What brings you to therapy?

Do you struggle to understand your own emotions? Are you regularly feeling anxious? Overwhelmed? Maybe you are finding it harder to connect with those you care about? These have been some very difficult years. Many of us need to take more time and space to heal. Therapy can help.

About Wendy

I believe that if we want to be at our best for others, we must make room to be compassionate toward ourselves. I have brought this belief to my decades-long career as an educator and to my work as a therapist. I support my clients to use the lens of their own lived experience to explore some of the same content I teach: the impacts of stress and trauma on daily living. This collaborative therapeutic process creates a powerful opportunity to build resilience, awareness, and self-compassion.

  • My teaching led to a natural evolution toward one-on-one work, and I bring these same perspectives to my work as a therapist. If you are struggling to navigate emotional challenges and are interested in exploring ways to bring some ease and connectedness back to your daily life and important relationships, please connect.

  • I have dedicated myself to providing safer spaces for learners in a variety of settings to develop the skills of relationship building, effective communication, and emotional resilience. I love all things brain-science, and bring a neuropsychological lens to my teaching, applying theories of self-regulation and emotional systems to everything we do in the classroom and in the community. • I live in Peterborough with my family and two dogs. I love old houses, photography, and crochet. Issues that are important to me include neurodiversity, 2SLGBTQI+ rights, and social justice.

  • Wendy Morgan, MA-Ed, MA-CP, has been developing and delivering curriculum at Fleming College for nearly twenty years. Her current areas of teaching include Child and Youth Care, Social Service Work, and Mental Health and Addictions where she focuses on the impact of stress and trauma on neurodevelopment, and how understanding the brain can support emotional regulation and resilience. Wendy has a psychotherapy practice where she uses a neuropsychological approach to support clients. She serves on the board of directors for Five Counties Children’s Centre.

  • Fees range from $120-$200 per session depending on length of session. I also offer some reduced rate opportunities, though there is a wait-list for these.

  • I offer both in-person and distance sessions. I see in-person clients at the Realign Wellness Centre in downtown Peterborough, while clients from across Ontario can attend sessions virtually or by phone.

  • It depends. A common pattern is that a new client might come weekly to begin, then move to bi-weekly or monthly. Some people prefer to just start at biweekly. It really comes down to your needs.

  • This depends too! Some folks come with a very specific goal in mind and can achieve it in a shorter amount of time. Others prefer to develop long-term relationships with a therapist, and so we work in an ongoing way.
